volunteering that puts the world in perspective

UNA Exchange volunteers can participate in more than 1000 International Volunteer Projects throughout the world. Volunteers all travel independently, then join an international group of volunteers to work alongside local communities on the various projects.

The work varies greatly from one project and country to the next,
but includes activities like construction work in towns and villages, nature conservation work, renovation of historical monuments, archaeological work and community projects involving children, the elderly, refugees and people with special needs.

All activities are carried out with partner organisations working with local communities throughout the world. The projects aim to provide volunteers with an intercultural experience and bring the groups into meaningful contact with local people by working alongside them for the benefit of the community.

To apply for International Volunteer Projects

The 2001 edition of our International Projects Directory is now available, listing the dates and brief descriptions of projects being run by our partner organisations overseas, for the summer and the rest of the year.

You can apply for particular projects listed in the Directory by completing a short application form and sending it to UNA Exchange with an appropriate fee (project fees for 2001 are £90 for members and £110 for non-members, payable by cheque).
