Volunteer projects in Wales
Winter Volunteering Projects in Wales 2016
UNA Exchange is all about peace and intercultural understanding by providing international volunteering opportunities. Much of our work involves sending young people from Wales to other countries, this year we are looking at celebrating and diversity within Wales and getting people volunteering with an all new winter program.

International volunteer projects in Wales
Volunteers from the UK are welcome to join one of our international projects in Wales. Every year, we organise:
- weekend projects
- two-week projects
- European Voluntary Service (long-term projects)
We work with local community organisations to create projects that really make a difference.
Most projects require leaders, so if you want more of a challenge, we can train you to be a project leader.
Weekend projects
Why not spend a weekend with a group of volunteers from across the UK and beyond? Some examples of projects....
- Helping convert the people of Cardiff to Fairtrade products
- Protecting some moorland at Afan Forest
- Building dry-stone walls at Felin Uchaf in north Wales
Weekend projects are a great way of trying out international volunteering for the first time. They might help you to prepare for a more challenging experience overseas.
Two-week projects
We arrange around 15 two-week international volunteer projects in Wales every year. Volunteers come from across the world to give their time to Welsh communities. We reserve places on these projects for volunteers from the UK. Some examples of projects....
- Organising play activities with an international twist for young people in the Rhondda Valley
- Helping Carmarthenshire County Council and Flintshire Coastal Rangers to build parts of the All-Wales Coastal Path
