Who are UNA Exchange?
Who are we?
- We are a dynamic voluntary organisation, supporting many hundreds of people to have amazing international experiences each year. We have been supporting international volunteering for nearly 40 years.
- We are a registered charity (charity number 700760) as such, we don’t work for financial profit.
- We have seven full-time experienced staff with a passion for international volunteering. Many committed volunteers work alongside the staff team, supporting our work with their energy and ideas.
- We are a volunteer-led organisation. Volunteers can join UNA Exchange as members who make a vital contribution to our work. We are managed by volunteers on our Executive Committee (EC). The EC is elected annually by UNA Exchange members.
What do we do?
- We support people to volunteer on a huge range of projects with partners in over 60 countries throughout the world. Volunteers from anywhere in the UK can join our projects abroad.
- We coordinate a programme of projects in Wales, where international volunteers support local organisations make a positive change in their communities. These projects also support communities in Wales learn about different cultures and promote global citizenship.

- We believe international volunteering should be for everyone. We are working with our partners to ensure opportunities are accessible to people from a wide range of backgrounds.
